I heard Nut stirring this afternoon. It was the glorious sound of baby babbling and cooing with a few giggles thrown in for good resolve. I sat outside the door to our bedroom for about ten minutes listening to this. There is something so calming and sweet about babies waking up from the afternoon nap.

Eventually, I snuck into the room so to surprise nut and get him to giggle. I opened the door and crawled over to the bed. Nut had my big fluffy comforter pulled over his head. He was babbling absent mindedly from underneath the blankets. I snuck up and pulled the blanket back.

There was my little nut. His diaper had come off. He was playing with his penis.

I am sorry, but did I walk in on the year 2021?

He looked at me as if to say, “hey mom! Look what I found! And it’s fun to play with too!” He was giggling and “playing”.

I just laughed.

My name is Peanut, and I have a penis.

I scooped him up and told him that everyone does it and he wouldn’t go blind.

Sigh…
