Perfection
Here I am sitting at work late last week. it was getting late in my time zone so it was late in First Year's time zone.
let me tell you about First Year. I have been chatting with first year via blog for well over a year and a half. she found me thorugh someone else. we have hit it off despite me being an old lady in compairison (hahahaha... I know. funny.) She is trying to make it through law school. I was trying to make it through grad school. we laugh a lot.
she is one of the few blogging buddies who got "the peanut has landed" email when the Nut was born. she's one of the few people who know where metropolis is as well as my real name. and she cracks me up, pretty much on daily baisis. she also puts things into prespective for me a lot.
I digress... I was working late last week and she popped up on my gmail chat. our converstaion was the following (Sorry, FY):

9:23 PM me: YUP JUST A SEC

FY: lol ;)
10:05 PM me: working late sucks. I'm going home. have a good night!
FY: Same to you, just wanted to say dont be offended by my recent post

me: grrrr.... I'll survive. :P

I went home. I was curious about her take on the whole boobie debate. no really, I was! it's common knowledge that I was very sad when Nut seemed to want everyone's boobs but mine. it's also pretty well known that I didn't produce enough milk. guess this makes me a bad mother, according to the Nazi La Leche League and lots of other people. But I think that Ms. FY covered all the facts in breast nazi-ness wonderfully. so I give the award this month to FY. congrats girlie.
Oh, and I'll chat with you at work any day. :P

Awww. That is so nice of you, thank you very much. I am going to have a great time wasting company time reading all the other posts as well. What a neat idea, and I love both of the blogs you linked to at the bottom. Glad that my post didn't infuriate too many people. I feel as if some people are afraid to approach the topic (especially if they aren't mothers) but you know me, I am a little too obnoxious not to speak my mind :)
You're not a bad mom because you didn't breastfeed. I hope you never think that! I'm off to read your PP Awardee now...

My friend had the same problem and she blogs about it now (flexibleparenting.com) which I think is very brave because I agree with you that La Leche is a scary force.
I always appreciate an honest opinion (other than La Leche League's) on breastfeeding. It is such a personal "choice" for each woman, and I can't stand it when people judge others for their "choices". You made a choice given your own personal situation, and obviously by looking at the adorable little nut, you aren't doing anything wrong, so I hope that you don't think you are! Off to read . . .
